What systems does AgencyStory® work with?

At launch, AgencyStory® is designed to work with Workamajig®. We are currently collaborating with WorkBook® (Deltek) to onboard them as our 2nd platform, followed by Advantage® and other integrated systems.

Why does your solution only work with “Integrated” Agency Management Software?

By design, AgencyStory® extracts financial and operational data from integrated systems in order to explore data relationships that drive actionable insights. Building these data relationships is simply not possible with non-integrated systems like QuickBooks®, Workfront® and MavenLink®.

Don’t tools like Workamajig® already have Business Intelligence?

No. Metrics and KPI’s are not the same as BI. While metrics (the measure of an action) and KPI’s (a measurable value of a business goal) are both inputs of BI, they are not linked nor provide context or actionable insight. BI is the fusion of metrics, KPI’s, supplemental data and custom calculations that answer very specific strategic business questions.

Who was involved in your Beta test?

Our beta test included representation from a broad spectrum of agency types, sizes and market verticals. This included a 600-person, F-500 in-house agency, mid-size digital agencies, mid-size integrated agencies and high-growth full-service, integrated and digital agencies.

Is AgencyStory® turn-key, will it just work out of the box?

Great question! Like any sophisticated reporting solution, data completeness and data quality are king. AgencyStory will only function properly if an agency is using their agency management software in a manner that properly leverages both sides of their system.

We are unique, even by industry standards; should we build a custom solution?

It depends. The average “simple” BI initiative generally takes 3-12 months to build something considered operational, with more complex BI initiatives taking between 3-5 years. This is a massive investment, especially considering an 85% average failure rate for BI initiatives! In the marketing services industry, we saw nearly a 100% failure rate, which is what prompted CPI to build AgencyStory®.

How long did it take you to design and build AgencyStory®?

CPI spent 3.5 years, with thousands of hours of design and coding just to get to Beta. Along the way, we were also able to leverage 10 years of consulting, 150 client engagements, and our background in analytics to build something truly unique for our industry.

We are VERY creative, I’m worried that analytics will harm our culture.

Any tool, if designed or used improperly will have unintended consequences, which is why we specifically designed the solution to focus on measuring things that improve agency culture. We love our industry, and strived to produce a solution to help leadership navigate an uncertain future, while focusing on what matters: the creative, the culture and the client.
